Jubilee is one of the most popular watermelon varieties grown in the United States and was introduced in 1963 by the Florida Agricultural Experiment Station. The Jubilee Watermelon variety was originally created by crossing together the varieties Africa 8, Iowa Belle, Garrison Hawkesbury and Leesburg. Jubilee Watermelons are extremely adapatable to nearly any region and do especially well in hot and humid climates. The flesh is a red/pink color and extremely sweet. These beauty's average 40 pounds each. They have an extemerly hard outer shell which makes them a good choice for shipping. If you are a Market Grower you can't go wrong with this choice.
