Serrano Tampequino is a very popular pepper in Mexico, about as popular as the Jalapeno.  The peppers are only about 4 inches long and 1/2 to 3/4 inches around.  The are used in many receipts but our favorite way to eat them is fresh.  The heat is somewhat less that the Jalapeno.  An excellent pickling pepper!  Our picture shows the fully ripe with a red color but they are normally harvested before they are completely ripe when they are green.
