I'll never forget when I was first introduced to this super sweet onion.  My first thought was "you gotta be kidding me"!  It was very large, about 1 1/2 pounds and yad yellow onion skin! Released in 1983 the Texas 1015 onion was developed by the legendary Dr. Leonard Pike of Texas A&M University.  And is THE sweetest onion I have ever tasted and believe it or not the larger they get the SWEETER they get! 

It is sometimes called "The Million Dollar Baby" because of the money spent developing it by Texas A&M-some $10,000,000.00!
