This tomato was introduced by a famous seedsman Peter Henderson in 1981 and called it “Great 400”, after which it was changed to “Henderson’s Pink Ponderosa” via a naming contest.  The tomatoes are huge and can weigh over 2 pounds. They are meaty pink-red and one of the preferred tomato for folks that like LARGE fruits. They have a mild sweet flavor with few seeds wrapped by thin reddish pink skin.  Fruit is ready to harvest in just 87 days which is nearly unheard of for such a large tomato!
