Diatomaceous Earth is  made from Amorphous DE fresh water type is a natural contact insecticide. Diatomaceous Earth dust works by causing abrasions on insects as they come into contact with product or ingest it. This contact results in the loss of body fluids then dehydration. Insects cannot become immune to its action. It is digestible by earthworms but causes them no harm.  It is very effective in controlling snails and slugs in bedding plant areas and around houses. Diatomaceous Earth is odorless, non-staining and remains effective in the control of insects as long as the product is present. Diatomaceous Earth dust/powder also has a highly repellent effect on most insects.
