Ashley is a great choice for you!  It was bred for folks just like you.  It was developed at Clemson University and released in 1956 and has been one of the most popular varieties in The South ever since.  The cukes are dark green and 6 to 7 inches long and burpless.  A Personal favorite!
They show great resistance to downy mildew which has been the bane to many southern gardens!
